November 2020 Election
With the continued issues revolving around COVID-19 there are some special information shared here for our voters in Harlan County. Return to this page often for continuing updates because updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
-
Election day is November 3rd, 2020
-
As with all elections, Absentee Voting via mail is going to take place for this election. To request a ballot, you need to visit govoteky.com and request an Absentee Ballot. The deadline to apply online for an Absentee ballot is October 9, 2020 no later than 11:59 p.m. EST.
-
When the official ballots are ready, they will be mailed out to the voters who have completed the Absentee Ballot request.
-
You must qualify to vote via Absentee but the Kentucky Governor has expanded the normal qualifying criteria to include those concerned about spreading or contracting COVID-19 (See the state Absentee site for more information).
-
In addition to voting in person on election day, voters can also vote in person prior to election day beginning October 13th, 2020 and this will run until November 2nd, 2020. The early voting will take place at the Harlan County Clerks Office in the Harlan Court House. Voting will take place Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 12:30PM and 1:30PM - 4:30PM, and on 3 Saturdays in October (October 17th, 24th and 31st) 8:00AM - 12:00PM.
-
Early In-Person voting was highly utilized in the Primary Election and we encourage Harlan County Voters to utilize this option again. If you are coming to Harlan for business at the Court House or coming to Harlan for any other reason (doctors' appointments, paying bills, grocery shopping, etc...) feel free to come by the Courthouse to vote.
-
As always, if you have any questions please contact our office.
